Jim & Esther Hanson
Senior Pastor: Jim & Esther Hanson
Pastor Jim Hanson grew up on the outskirts of a small logging community in western Oregon where his father was superintendent of the rural electric company and his family attended the local Nazarene Church. Upon graduation from High School, Pastor Jim attended Northwest Nazarene College (now University) for a year and then transferred to Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. Upon graduation from courses in Insurance Claims Practices, he opened an insurance agency in Eugene, Oregon which he operated for 15 years. During these years, Pastor Jim was a part of First Church of the Nazarene in Springfield, Oregon.
October 3, 1981 Pastor Jim married his wife, Esther, who was a nationally known song evangelist with the Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Jim and Esther have two children (Jimmy and Julie) who were born in 1983 and 1985.
In 1988, Pastor Jim felt a call to full time ministry and, by August of 1989, he had sold his home and his insurance agency and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to attend Nazarene Bible College. In May of 1993 he received his Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree and accepted a call to pastor Live Oak Church of the Nazarene just north of Sacramento.
Ken & Marcy Lawson
Pastor of Outreach
My name is Ken Lawson and my wife is Marcy Lawson. I'm a licensed pastor. We are originally from Southern Oregon. We met in high school and after graduating, we married and I joined the Marine Corps. I spent 10 years in the Marines, which eventually led us to NAS Lemoore, where we ended up staying. Several years after getting out of the Marine Corps, I felt God's call to become a pastor. I received my Ministerial License in 2008. My wife and I have been married for 25 years, and we have two daughters ages 21 & 18. Neither of us has had an easy life. Everything we have we owe to God. He has healed us of things from our past and things we clung to in our early adulthood. It is for this reason we feel compelled to share God’s love and mercy with others. We pray others will come to see and know that God's love and mercy is for everyone.
